Training & background
Mr Micheál O’Rourke trained as an eye surgeon in Ireland before completing three years of international fellowship in oculoplastic, lacrimal, and orbital surgery. He returned to Ireland to establish his private practice alongside university hospital work.
His training included two specialist fellowships, providing advanced expertise in the full spectrum of oculoplastic surgery — from delicate cosmetic blepharoplasty to complex reconstruction after skin cancer, orbital decompression for thyroid eye disease, and paediatric oculoplastics including oncology cases.
He has been a consultant for over 5 years and currently operates across four locations in Dublin: Northbrook Eye Clinic, the Institute of Dermatologists, Blackrock Clinic, and Beacon Hospital.

My approach is grounded in safety, precision, and honest communication. I believe in treating each patient as an individual, taking the time to understand their concerns, and delivering results that are both functionally sound and aesthetically natural.
